The Town of Gravelbourg, a vibrant, multi-cultural, environmentally conscious community in the heart of Saskatchewan’s southwest, invites applications for a Community Economic Development Officer. Gravelbourg is a community rich in heritage with an economy based mainly in agriculture and manufacturing, with opportunities in “value-added”, recreation, and tourism. We are seeking an individual with the vision, energy, and perseverance to develop new initiatives and to continue with current “Green Initiatives,” Strategic Plans, and Projects that are in place. The Officer shall be responsible for the development, retention, implementation, and administration of economic operations – locally and regionally.
Qualifications:
• University degree in commerce / business admin or equivalent combination of education & experience
• Must be assertive, self-motivated, and able to provide leadership
• Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with Town Council, civic staff, government officials, local businesses, Economic Development Committee, and the general public
• Creativity, team work, and ability to work with community
• Ability to interpret and prepare business and grant applications
• Familiarity with business and tourism marketing, promotion, and development.
• Gravelbourg is a bilingual (English & French) community. French language is an asset
Salary will depend on experience, education, and training relating to the position of Economic Development Officer.
