MUST:
1. BS in Mechanical Engineering -- Master's Degree preferred.
2. 8 + years of new product development experience.
3. Experience with CAD and MS Office.
4. 3 + years experience in mechanical design and stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
5. Currently in the region ( roughly 300 miles Burlington VT) or strong reason to go there.
Manufacturing operations are located in Canada, the United States and Europe, with a global, company-owned service and sales network.
They have an immediate opening for a Design Specialist. This team is responsible for the ongoing innovation in design, development, and delivery of injection molds and to their global client base. The successful applicant will evaluate and develop advanced technologies for implementation into products and direct Product Development projects to ensure manufacturability within the specified deadlines.
Work independently and as part of a team to evaluate and develop new technologies for injection molding product advancements and manufacturing improvements.
. Organize and analyze data, define objectives and generate overall research/development plans for key technologies.
. Time management according to a project plan from start to finish including definition, concepting, prototyping, testing, including final technology implementation phases.
. Project communication throughout the various phases including schedules, design reviews, development updates and risk assessment reports.
. Conduct engineering analysis during the design process. i.e. Stress, Thermal, Lab and Physical and Electrical testing.
. Evaluate product performance through testing with development lab and possible customer test sites.
. Construction of test models, test cells for the verification of design concepts as a team member.
. Develop and maintain contacts to customers, industrial partners, universities and other research institutes
