THE OPPORTUNITY
Based out of the company’s Mississauga office and initially reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Development Representative works from an existing database of over 350 thousand prospects and is primarily responsible for new business development using the telephone, written correspondence, and in-person presentations at pre-arranged meetings and trade shows.
COMPENSATION
A competitive compensation package which includes base salary plus commission on gross sales and bonus opportunities providing for income in the $65K to $80K range in the first year and over $100K thereafter. Free parking and paid travel opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS/KEY REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of new business development experience, preferably dealing directly with advertising agencies and/or their clients, selling promotion or brand marketing related solutions. Prior experience with licensed properties or within the music industry is a definite asset, but not required. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Additional qualifications include:
- Effective prospecting and business development skills
- Ready and willing to make cold calls
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with on-line researching
- Capable client listening and presentation skills
- Trade Show exhibiting experience
- Computer literate, using MS Office and database programs and contact management software
- Able to travel within Canada and the USA
- Bondable with no criminal record
- University or College Degree
