Position Summary
• Our client is in search of a System Analyst who processes a strong understanding of business processes surrounding billing systems.
• The system is a customer management system (ie. call centre agents use it to place any new orders/changes). A customer service person will enter an order/modification and the system will trigger a tech person to respond and an invoice to be created all from the one action (their invoices are printed by another vendor).
• Knowledge of billing in a telcom or cable company would be an asset.
SKILLS in order of importance:
o Oracle DB & PL/SQL knowledge
o ASP and ASP.NET (started as ASP then moved to ASP.NET)
o Business knowledge of billing systems (cable/telcom experience is an asset)
o The idea candidate should have the classic background of a Systems Analyst - worked up the ranks from a developer to analyst and now a senior analyst.
1. Senior person skilled and experienced in primarily the analysis phase of the system development lifecycle
2. Work directly with management and users to analyze, specify and design business applications
3. Provide technical leadership
4. Design, plan, and supervise implementation of small and medium projects
5. Perform analysis and troubleshooting of support issues and determining solutions
6. Complete initial analysis for various customer requests, document and/or analyze business requirements, prepare cost estimates and proposals, design and develop solutions, and do quality assurance of the development process
7. Develop detailed functional, system and program specifications required for the implementation of business process changes or improvements, data analysis and the creation of reports
8. Write and apply database scripts to development and system testing databases
9. Coordinate and facilitate requirements gathering sessions in an effort to elicit and document business system requirements
10. Develop test cases and execute test scripts.
11. Documents technical specifications
12. Document handover documentation and perform training for first level Service Desk personnel
13. Produce analysis and design documents
14. Produce project plans and schedules for application systems development efforts for small and medium size projects
15. Liaison with software vendors for resolution of issues
16. Full understanding of business practices and concepts of the relevant business area being supported
17. Act independently as the IT SME for business projects and/or new product initiatives assessing impacts on IT systems and processes
REQUIREMENT
• University Degree (Bachelor minimum).
