Our client is a medium sized Calgary based architecture practice that was founded in 1985. The firm has approximately 25 permanent members of staff, with between 6 & 8 qualified architects, with the remainder of staff either architectural technicians or support. The company is currently 100% owned by the two principals, with three associates. The company has a strong reputation across both Calgary and Alberta, with recent project portfolio being predominantly focused on education (40% of the portfolio) and recreation projects
With an existing team of 6-8 people, be required to inspire, manage and strengthen the team.
Proficient in managing design development, design documentation and project management skills.
Proven experience in managing development aspects of significant projects.
Able to carry responsibility for design development, design coordination and documentation as well as be responsible for managing junior design and drafting staff.
Supervise the overall production and coordination on projects.
Be able to grow into company budget and invoicing, alongside finance team.
Seek to introduce the company’s services where appropriate
Review team’s construction documents for technical and graphic accuracy.
To meet with and give presentations to clients and design committees as & when required.
Oversee project budgets, schedules and quality control.
Be currently working at Associate level
Hands-on experience in CAD (AutoCAD architecture 2008). 3D modeling sketch-up, (BIM) Building Information Model.
Experience in relevant project disciplines, including but not exclusively education, recreation and/or retail projects.
Demonstrable experience within the Alberta market.
Able to demonstrate a career of steady progression, climbing through the construction ranks in a structured manner with reputable organisations.
Experience in Revit is an asset
