MindField Group, is proud to announce a Heating Mechanic position with Greater Victoria School District. School District 61 provides quality education for approximately 20,000 students in 26 Elementary Schools, 10 Middle Schools, and 7 Secondary Schools.

What you will be doing
As our client’s Heating Mechanic you would be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of gas boiler plant installations as well as hot water and forced air systems and all types of heating control systems (i.e. pneumatic, electronic and digital, etc.). Your responsibilities would include:
• Diagnose problems and/or failures in heating systems
• Monitors boiler heating systems
• Repairs systems and components
• Repairs, installs, alters and maintains electronic and pneumatic control systems.
• Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Repairs and maintains heating systems, including hot water pumps, motors, fans and their associated controls.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications, orders materials and supplies, lays out projects and reports on work in progress as required.
• Tests water and chemical levels for the purpose of maintaining anticorrosion chemicals within closed loop systems for preventative maintenance purposes.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 British Columbia Drivers License.
• Valid BC Gasfitters “A” Ticket (Recognized by the Province of BC)
• Four (4) or more years of specific experience in similar duties.
