Sports Store Technician EDM-08-164
 

Under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator, the Sports Store Technician plans and organizes all sports stores activities and equipment purchases according to established policies and regulations. He/she orders and tracks materials and supplies, prepares reports for supervisor, as required, and maintains records of distribution accounts.

Qualifications:
- College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Recreation Facility Management or related field and some years experience in a related field
OR
- High school diploma AND several years experience in a related field
OR
- An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered
AND
- A valid driver’s license (Alberta)
- Forklift operators licence, an asset

Knowledge Requirements
- Of sports facilities
- Of maintenance requirements for sports facilities and sports equipment
- Of sports equipment repair
- Of shipping and receiving
- Of health and safety practices

Experience Requirements
- In issuing sports equipment
- In the preparation and maintenance of outdoor sports facilities
- In equipment maintenance/scheduling
- In loss prevention
- In inventory control
- In record keeping/invoicing
- In event planning and project management
- In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing
