Brand Manager
Our client is an innovative OTC drug company currently expanding their North American markets for its OTC drugs for neuropathic pain management. They are seeking a qualified Brand Manager to join their team in Halifax, NS.
The Brand Manager will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. An energetic person, they will have an opportunity to grow within their role and responsibilities within the company, and will be rewarded based on their contribution.
This is a lead role in the design, execution and team coordination of the marketing and brand building of our client’s products across North America. This includes management of both the consumer and professional channels, market research, marketing promotions, communications, strategic planning and budgeting for brands.
Tasks/Responsibilities/Duties
• Provide leadership and vision for brand/channel and develop strategic plans for the business according to its target market by leveraging opportunities with customers, brands and alliances
• Manage, develop and implement product marketing activities to maximize sales
• Actively work to analyze and develop new marketing opportunities and new product improvements working with researchers, customers and internal departments
• Develop retailer presentations incorporating data from consumer research to achieve new or expanded distribution, display activity and secondary placements
• Work with R&D staff to develop new products and line extensions
• Manage profitability and forecasting for brands and channels
• Manage projects with advertising staff to ensure strategic goals are met
• Manage programs to ensure they are within budget. Proactively manage budget to maximize target reach and frequency
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Health Care or other pertinent fields
• Extensive knowledge of OTC health products and chain drug store industry in Canada and U.S.
• 5+ years of marketing experience
• Working knowledge of Diabetes treatment products or pharmaceuticals
• Solid brand management experience
• Ability to work with a team
• Prior work experience with a company with less than 200 employees
• Self-motivation and common sense in an entrepreneurial environment
• High level of coordination and communication skills
• Able to provide extensive creative input into developing brand strategies for our client’s products
