The largest Utility Service contractor in Atlantic Canada is currently looking for hardworking skilled Power Linemen. This company provides a wide variety of services for power distribution, power transmission and communications sectors. These opportunities are available on the welcoming East Coast in Halifax and rural Nova Scotia where there is low cost housing with single family homes close to town, starting at around $120,000.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time.
Salary: 45 hours per week, $30.02 hourly, plus benefits and bonuses
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
Location: Opportunities are available in Halifax.
Skill Requirements:
Education: Lineman trade certification or equivalent certification and experience, Journeyman, Inter-provincial or Red Seal certification preferred. You will hold a valid drivers license and be eligible to hold a Class 3 Drivers License with air brake endorsement. Should there be no qualified Power Linemen applicants, we may consider hiring 4th year Apprentices at the apprenticeship wage.
Experience: High voltage experience preferred.
Major Work Area: You will be responsible to perform all aspects of line maintenance such as installation, maintenance, repair, construction and customer service work including one-man work and response, while ensuring compliance with safe work methods and practices.
Type of Equipment: Power line and cables, Switches, Poles, towers and guy wires
Specific Skills: Erect and maintain poles, towers and guy wires, Splice, solder and insulate conductors and wiring, Inspect and test power lines and cables, Install and maintain street lighting systems, Adhere to safety practices and procedures
