Project Manager-Mining Material Handling Equipment
 

SCOPE
To execute and manage successfully nominated specific project(s) according to customer contracts, procedures and Project Management (PM) guidelines of which are valid and in use at any given time.
To lead the project team and act as a mentor and coach for junior project team members in order to secure the best possible performance of the project teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Project Execution
Participate actively project hand-over meetings with Sales and/or Product Line Manager.
Organize and execute Project kick off meeting to ensure that all needed information and data from sales to execution team will be available and transferred with relevant documentation.
Prepare Project Execution Plan.
Lead project team and maintain a positive project culture.
Monitor and report on the performance of the project and ensure that agreed corrective actions are in place and report thereof to Management and client.
Arrange and chair regular progress meetings, prepare minutes and follow up actions and manage the follow up actions.
Implementing continual improvement through monitoring the project results and being proactive in developing strategies/procedures in conjunction with the Director Projects for better implementation.
Contract Scope and Claim Management
Management of the tendered scope and any possible scope changes (increases or decreases).
Establish quotations for contract variations and claims to the client.
Time Management
Execute and manage the project with your team within the time schedule.
Regular reporting and updating of project status in relation to time cost and overall performance and the monitoring of profitability.
Cost Management
Secure the planned GP for the project.
Cash Management
Secure a positive Cash Flow for the project through ensuring that invoices are issued and paid by the client.
Quality Management
Ensure that planned quality will be maintained.
Resource Management
Plan and maintain a resource plan for the project and communicate to team members and department heads.
Responsible for the site safety, applicable legislation and client requirements. This includes compliance with safety management program.
Assessment / appraisal of internal and external member of project team during execution of the project and providing assessment report at the end of the project.
Communications Management
Setting up of communication rules and ensure that the required formal communications are maintained at all levels of the project.
Risk Management
Perform Risk Management for the project with, risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation plan, risk mitigation execution and risk monitoring, control and review.
Procurement Management
Organise procurement of services and goods required to meet project objectives. This includes the management of the suppliers to meet commitments.
Participate in major procurement activities to ensure that obligations of the customer contract are transferred to suppliers.
Organise expediting and QA together with procurement.
Client Relationship
Develop and maintain good relationship with client and ensure that the client will be satisfied with result of the Project.
Other Responsibilities
Work according to Project Management Guidelines.
Work co-operatively with department heads.
Communicate and implement strategy, vision and mission.
Communicate and live core values.
Promote ethical behaviour as a way of business life throughout company.
Develop and maintain a team working environment.
